Wisdom & Joy

IRL OR VIRTUAL
What if the stress, frustration, and emotional ups and downs in your life weren’t random, but came from a very specific way you’re seeing the world? And, if that view of the world changed, joy could bloom in any situation?
In this course, you’ll explore one of the most powerful ideas in Buddhist philosophy: that things don’t exist as solidly or independently as they appear. Misunderstanding this is the root of our suffering, and mastering it is liberation. Drawing from the Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life, this course breaks down complex teachings into something you can actually apply—so you’re not just thinking differently, but living differently.
This is a course about seeing clearly and what becomes possible when you do.
1) Stop taking everything so personally
2) Learn how to manage emotions
3) Understand why your life looks the way it does
4) Gain a sense of control over your future
5) Stop chasing things that don’t actually satisfy you
6) Relationships get lighter and healthier
7) Become less afraid of loss and change
8) Learn how to experience pleasure without becoming attached to it
9) Develop deeper compassion (without burnout)
10) Move toward a lasting kind of peace, and create joy within
Includes: weekly 2-hr teachings, guided meditations, group discussions, private WhatsApp channel and certification option for teachers.

This world doesn't always make it easy to be optimistic or joyful, because there's so much to regret, to judge or to be afraid of— even within our own minds. But Tibetan Buddhism teaches that our experiences originate in our own mental habits: letting anxiety run wild, focusing on the negatives, criticizing ourselves, gossiping about others doesn't just affect our mood— it creates a lackluster and heartbreaking world, when we could be in love with everything.
Learn how to hold fierce hope, and wild joy in the face of even difficult situations by repatterning the mind using ancient meditation techniques and rituals. Practice these techniques for 4 weeks, and build a firm foundation for hope to unfurl and joy to reign.
We will cover: how to transform a negative situation into a positive one using LO JONG techniques, traditional gratitude meditations, and TAR TUK, a technique of actively reflecting on positive habits.
Week 1: Interconnected Joy
Master Class Wednesday 5/20 7:30-8:30pm EST.
Optional: Meditation Monday 5/25 9:00-9:30pm EST.
Our ability to bring joy to others increases our own happiness exponentially. Learn techniques to become the person in the room who brings relief, humor and confidence to others.
Week 2: Transforming Difficult Situations
Master Class Wednesday 5/27 7:30-8:30pm EST.
Optional: Meditation Monday 6/1 9:00-9:30pm EST.
Even in anger, heartbreak, fear, and illness there is a timeless beauty that poets find. Learn how to spark that beauty and then grow it into wildfire using traditional LO JONG practice.
Week 3: Gratitude and Self-Confidence
Master Class Wednesday 6/3 7:30-8:30pm EST.
Optional: Meditation Monday 6/8 9:00-9:30pm EST.
Learn how to be grateful to yourself for all of your good qualities, all that you’ve overcome, and everything that you do for others. This is a traditional practice called TAR TUK, or “limitless” and it helps your good qualities (and joy) grow.
Week 4: Gratitude and Self-Appreciation
Master Class Wednesday 6/10 7:30-8:30pm EST.
Optional: Meditation Monday 6/15 9:00-9:30pm EST.
Learn how to take responsibility for your positive experiences and find magic in the world around you. Tibetan Buddhism teaches that everything we love, people, coffee, a blue sky, comes from our kindness. Learn how to celebrate that through daily meditation.
